FAQs

This is a section designed to answer the most frequently asked questions about my intensive Spanish courses and immersion programmes.

What is the difference between an Intensive Course and a Spanish Immersion Programme?

An Intensive Course is a course lasting at least 20 or 30 hours, which can be private – that is, one-to-one – or in a small group. The intensive course takes place over one or two weeks, with lessons every day. The overall aim is to reach a specific level of Spanish, and the approach is entirely communicative.
I organise group intensive courses several times a year on specific dates with a minimum of 3 participants.
The other option is to book a private intensive course or one with people you know who wish to take part with you. In this case, these courses are not tied to a specific date, and you can take them on your own, with a group of two or more people.

An Immersion Programme not only focuses on the language through a communicative approach, but also explores other cultural aspects essential to a better understanding of how the language is used. There are many more natural contexts and situations from which to learn and practise. It goes a step further because it means immersing yourself in everyday life from the very start, living the language, as it includes accommodation and living with your teacher for a week. These programmes present different challenges and situations that are not normally possible over an intensive course. You can also choose the intensity of the programme – more or fewer hours of practice.

The Immersion Programmes may also include other interesting activities such as cooking classes, yoga and/or meditation, guided cycle tours, or bike rental so you can cycle on your own...

Are the Spanish Immersion Programmes for one person or for a group?

The immersion programmes are either one-to-one, fully tailored to your needs, or in groups of up to three people. Couples or families of three often take part, but one-to-one programmes are the most common.

What meals are included during a language immersion stay?

It includes daily breakfast and dinner, featuring local and organic produce. Some programmes include dinner every day, whilst others include two or three dinners. This also depends on your preferences and, usually, on the season. Dinner is never included on Saturdays.

Are there formal Spanish lessons, or are there no lessons at all?

There are lessons, and there is also practice in other kinds of contexts without straying from the objective we’re aiming for. To this end, depending on the level, I suggest different activities, taking into account the participants’ interests as well.
There are people at an upper-intermediate level who just want to practise to improve their fluency and gain confidence, and that is also possible.

Do I need to be at a specific level to take part in an Immersion Programme?

No, you don’t need to be at a specific level.

If I want to include Yoga in my Spanish Immersion Programme, do I need to have a minimum level?

No, there is no minimum level required for Yoga. In fact, Yoga programmes are generally designed for beginners who wish to gain more confidence in their individual practice, or to be able to practise on their own at home as well. Many people are unable to attend a studio, so they start practising online. The aim is to provide tools to make your practice safer whilst learning more about the benefits of Yoga.

Do I need to book the Programme?

Yes, and preferably in advance. What’s more, if you book well in advance, I’ll offer you a discount.
Booking is essential to secure your place, as I need to set aside a week in the schedule.

Is there a cancellation policy?

-More than 60 days in advance: full refund minus €100 administrative fee.
-30-60 days in advance: 50% refund.
-Less than 30 days: no refund (but you can transfer your place to another person).
